The Latest Makeup Brand To Get Addicted To!Tuesday, February 05, 2013
I was on my way home today from a fashion shoot when I suddenly remembered that I needed eyebrow powder for my own personal use. I used to love Fanny Serrano's eyebrow powder quad, I mean I still do, but I found that it's such a waste that I only use one color from the quad. So I was on a mission to find a single shadow that can be used as an eyebrow powder.
I promised myself that I was going to buy only this one product and a small eyebrow brush, and go home without buying anything else. I was cruising the aisles and that's when I came across this new brand in SM Makati that just opened. I kept telling myself to check it out and just look for that one brow powder, and that they did!
The perfect light brown shade that can be used wet or dry. The brand Flormar (new in Manila, but has been around all over Europe for a while), carries 3 shades of eyebrow powder. This is their lightest shade, EB01 (PhP 240.00 / $6.00) a good deal for such a big pan, and would last me for quite a while.
It's still slightly darker than the shade I use from Fanny Serrano, but it's close enough. I haven't had the time to try it yet because I had makeup on as I wrote this, but I was able to try the consistency on the back of my hand, and it's just gorgeous!
So... There I was with the eyebrow powder in hand, and I made a big mistake of going back, and try the other products! Uh-oh.
Now, let me tell you about this new brand.
The brand carries a wide variety of products. I love that they have a lot of foundation shades, and that their packaging is pro looking. It doesn't look cheap. So sleek! Plus it's a bonus that their cosmetics doesn't have that cheap perfume smell!
Instead of just stopping for eyebrow powder that takes 10 minutes to pick out, I spent an additional hour checking out the entire line.
Since I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on new makeup yet (I have about 3 boxes of makeup still awaiting to be reviewed), I chose to buy lip gloss instead (I am about to run out, I swear!), and this amazing Khol eyeliner.
They had basic shades which made it easy to choose which ones I would make a whole lot of use of.
The lip gloss is not at all sticky, and the pigment is amazing. Even the gloss is high shine. It really kicked Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss' ass!
The shine is just wonderful and it lasts for hours! I am still wearing my gloss now, and it's been 4 hours since I tried on the gloss.
Will DEFINITELY buy this one again. (PhP 349.00 / $8.50)
Allow me to show and tell you about this other product that blew me away. Their Khol Ultra Black Eyeliner (PhP 849.00 / $20.70)
It gives excellent pigment and glides on easily like crayons. Very easy to smudge, and gives that very black line on the waterlines that doesn't look gray like how most eyeliners do. This one is very black.
Since it's a Khol eyeliner, it is not smudge proof. It is very easy to blend to create fast smoky eyes! It is a bit pricey, and I am already wondering how to line the eyes when you get to the wide end of the cone of it, but I'll worry about it when I get there.
I didn't blend the liner so you guys can see the intensity of the liner. I will do a tutorial on how to do a smoky eye with this product soon.
So, that's my haul for today. All in all, I think this brand has a lot of potential in making it to the top. Affordable quality cosmetics is definitely at the top of my list!
