This just in! DKNY's latest MyNY perfume now available!

The collection of perfumes by Donna Karan DKNY, after numerous editions of DNKY Be Delicious, DKNY launched a new heart-shaped edition which has the aim to express the contemporary urban spirit of her beloved city. The advertising campaign of fragrance DKNY MyNY features the popular singer, songwriter and actress Rita Ora, who is holding the bottle made of glass and metal of which the upper part creates a heart shape and suggests New York skyscrapers (a mixture of modern and chic). L-O-V-E at first sight sniff!

NEW YORK -The big, juicy apple. I have always loved New York. It's full of life and energy, and literally, the city that never sleeps. Even when you go out in the middle of the night, there is always something to see. I love the feel of the fast paced lifestyle of the city. Everyone, dressed fashionably no matter their agenda for the day, and there's always this energy that is alive in the heart of the city!

I made this hologram collage from our trip to New York last year. This is basically DKNY's MyNY fragrance in a nutshell (click on image to view larger):

The fragrance lives up to its name: My NY. The opening notes are bold and spicy, befitting the fast-paced and energetic urban lifestyle of the concrete jungle that is Manhattan. While it has a crisp scent, it is never overpowering or too heady, even at the height of our very humid country. I am loving the base notes even more, that's when it becomes sweeter and warmer. It has good lasting power of about three hours or so, not as long as I had hoped, but better longevity than most. 

A fragrance that is young and versatile for every woman's lifestyle. I love how it can fit to any weather just like New York, whether it be used in the summer, winter, spring or autumn, you will fall in love with the fragrance.

Not only is this fragrance for women who live on the fast lane, it can also be worn by women who take it slow and enjoy their surroundings! It's office friendly, even sporty-friendly! I love how uncomplicated this fragrance is making it really fun to wear, anywhere!

I'm quickly falling in love with this DKNY fragrance, because if New York did have a scent, this would be it. This latest one by DKNY is a little cheeky, and I loooove cheeky. It's more sexy and fun, than it is seductive, that's what is so interesting and NEW with MyNY.

It has a fresh, spicy vibe rather than the usual syrupy take on raspberry notes by other brands. As it dries the pink pepper calms down and a warm, sweet patchouli becomes dominant leaving a trail of broken hearts behind you. Yes, it's a bit of fruitchouli, but a good one. It would make a great everyday scent for any season.
Just when I thought that I was done with the whole fruity fragrance, here comes this fresh and refreshing fragrance from DKNY.

The bottle design captures the essence that is the urban look of NYC. The heart-shaped bottle is clear, containing DKNY MyNY’s pink juice (pink!) and capped with a silver metallic skyline cap (I know, very urban, I love it!).

Donna Karan points out that Rita Ora described this new fragrance that she is spokesperson for as "pure energy in a bottle", which if you have been to NYC is just how it is: PURE ENERGY. She is photographed with the images of dynamic New York, with its streets and skyscrapers stand behind her in the advertising photo. Which of course makes the fragrance real fun and lively!

So, why was Rita Ora chosen to represent this new fragrance? “You’ve got a young, hip woman of New York speaking about it, a woman who goes from day to night," Karan says, "I think Rita’s a great representative of DKNY. She’s full of life, she’s about what everyone wants to feel — energy. And I find her ageless. She’s like this Energizer bunny who can wear anything from track shoes to stilettos, DKNY to Donna Karan. I love the girl as a person, too. She walks the talk.”

The fragrance comes in 30, 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum bottles, but only the 50ml and the 100ml will be sold in Manila. This wonderful, chic fragrance will be available in Rustan's Makati and Rustan's Shangri-La.
