Learn all about makeup from a Pro!

My name is Isabel, but friends call me Sabs. I have been a professional freelance makeup artist for 10 years now in the Philippines.

A chef turned makeup artist, I got my first degree in Professional Makeup Application (Bridal, TV and Photography Makeup) at the ICI Training Center-Frank Provost in the Philippines in 2004 (currently known as Center for Aesthetic Studies). My makeup degrees at Vogue It Is Beauty School in Hong Kong (basic and advance airbrush makeup training, skin care and advance makeup training on fashion and beauty with Dorothy Lam), and Khun Joe Cosmetology School in Bangkok (fashion and Black & White photography makeup) immediately followed.

In 2007, I completed a short intensive course in Singapore at COSMOPROF (personal makeup/corrective makeup). Then later that same year, I went back to Hong Kong to train for facials, and a more intensive course on corrective beauty makeup.

In 2011, I went back to makeup school at CAS (Center for Aesthetic Studies) under the wings of my mentor Ms. Jennie Delica for an advance and intensive training in High-Definition Makeup application techniques for the use of today's modern HD SLR cameras and HD Videos for weddings and commercials. This unique and complex technique is for close-up and tight beauty shots for the use of today's modern camera.

In 2006, I was offered by one of Paris' cosmetic giants brand Lancôme Paris to fully sponsor me in exchange to do PR by carrying their name when I did editorial work and represent the brand in events, fashion shows, and other sponsored shoots. I stayed on with Lancôme Paris for 4 years. Realizing that my passion was to be in weddings, I concentrated in working with brides, and got into beauty blogging in 2008.

Although weddings and writing have been keeping me busy, I still do magazine editorial, cover shoots and advertising. I have done makeup for quite a number for celebrities in the Philippines. I was John Lloyd Cruz' makeup artist for ASAP in 2007, and was the show Us Girls' makeup artist (Angel Aquino, Chesca Garcia and Iya Villania) that same year. I also landed a short gig doing Richard and Raymond Gutierrez' makeup for a few episodes for the show SOP in 2007.

After 11 years of beautifying a number of celebrities/personalities and models all over the Philippines, dedicating most of my time beautifying brides, I have retired from doing makeup (except the occasional favors from family, friends, and past clients), and have concentrated full time in blogging. I am also the founder of NEKKID, an all-natural/organic brand of skin care.
